Dear Arthur, Henley on Thomas 1 February 2010
I wonder if you still recall Auntie Mary´s daughter, who wouldn´t stay put waiting for the perfect husband, but went off to study to become a governess.
My studies are behind me now and I´m looking forward to new challanges. I intend to come to Finland this month and look for work. I can manage in Finnish quite well now.
I´d be really grateful if you could help me find employment. I´m not looking exclusively for a governess´ position. Itf it proves to be impossible to find, I´m open to other possibilities. I´ve found out that there are quite a few small boutiques around the area, such as a photographic studio, the Stillman taylor´s, a florist, a ladies beauty parlour and Harold Parker´s grocery shop. Any work would be lovely!
I´m also hoping you would be able and willing to put me up until I find work and a place of my own. I´ll be bringing along Barney, my dog, but trust you won´t mind him knowing what pet lovers you are!
I´ll be staying in Helsinki for a while on my way to you and expect to be in Porvoo towards the end of February.
Much love
Your cousin Lily

Hui kauhistus, nyt tuli kiire siivota kaikki talven pölyt pois ennen kun serkku saapuu.
Hoida sinä lattiat ja matot niin minä korjaan pois nämä seitit lampuista!
Gosh, Now we´ll have to hurry and clean this place up before cousin Lily gets here.
You do the floors and rugs and I´ll sort these codwebs out!
